The "extra software" can convert your shoutcast .pls filename into a .sc variation your xbox can use to connect to the stream....
I did use Relax before but it just makes the stream look like an mp3 to your xbox... the above option is way better since there's no size limit.. If you're xbox is connected directly to the net I would choose that option above the Relax one.  Maybe there is another way to stream via Relax but I didn't find it!
