Yes, or even the latest cvs build, it has lots of nice new features and works pretty well.

A cvs build is a build from the source code.

The source code is changed and updated every day, bugs fixed, new features introduced etc.

Once enough new features have been introduced and bugs ironed out and if it's stable enough they release it as the next version. The next one will be 2.4.

Daily builds from the source code can be found in the usual places.

There are disadvantages to using cvs builds however. When a new feature is introduced this often leads to new bugs popping up or even old ones re-appearing. These can be very small or very large, sometimes you might find that a daily build might not even play ANY of your divx files properly. Major problems like this are usually fixed very quickly though.

So if you want cutting edge stuff use a cvs build, if not stick to the latest stable version ie. 2.3.

CVS versions at the moment are installed in just the same way that 2.3 is.

By the way CVS is the name for the system that is used by the various programmers to submit updates and patches.
