Going To M$ Dash From Xbmp
« on: March 31, 2003, 08:53:00 AM »

***edit***
Think i figured it out, now i can open dvd tray, put in original dvd, press a thumbnail picture of xboxdash in xbmp. And the dvd starts, after the film, i open the tray, and return to xbmp.  I guess its not the worst solution.
*******************

ok, more problems .
After messing too much with my xbmp as dash, nothing would boot.
Luckily i had evox boot dosk, so i could fix it.

now im instead asking for advice before i push my luck further.
I want to play dvd with the remote, the manual said you could make a shortcut to the ms dash, i guess you would need autorun for the dvd to work.

i made a "msdash.cut"

<shortcut>
<path>harddisk0partition2msxboxdash.xbe</path>
</shortcut>

put it in c:

and in config.xml  i had

<bookmark>
        <name>Play DVD</name>
        <path>c:msxboxdash.xbe</path>
      </bookmark>

but this didnt work, instead it almost gave me a heartattack when the xbox didnt boot.

looks like this the .xml? however what happens exactly?if it doesn't work...try evox as dash from there it's easier to use msdash to play dvd and if u want u can launch xbmp....

<applications>
            <bookmark>
        <name>Utilities</name>
        <path>f:appsutils</path>
      </bookmark>
   </applications>

hope this helps

DVD Player.cut :
QUOTE
<shortcut>
<path>Harddisk0Partition2msxboxdash.xbe</path>
</shortcut>

and if you have config.xml configure to play dvd autolunch , whne you put the dvd it gonna play it in the application you specify in the dvd player.cut

autolunch function in config.xml:

QUOTE
<autolaunchxbox>true</autolaunchxbox>
    <autolaunchdvd>true</autolaunchdvd>
    <autolaunchcdda>true</autolaunchcdda>

if not set to autolunch you put the dvd and press the (dvd player) button in (my programs)

either way you have to edit the dvd player.cut !!! and put it on C:

Everything has worked except the autolaunch,i put in

<dashboard>evoxdash.OLD.xbe</dashboard>
   <shutdowntime>0</shutdowntime>
   <sensitivity>0.2</sensitivity>
   <xnsbuffer>8192</xnsbuffer>
   <autolaunchxbox>true</autolaunchxbox>
    <autolaunchdvd>true</autolaunchdvd>
    <autolaunchcdda>true</autolaunchcdda>

but the dvd just spins up. Dont know what ive done wrong there.

Other than that im finished doing stuff to my xbox, im satisfied now that i have xbmp as dash, with the very nice Blackbolt's MS XBMP Player skin.
And easy access to my evox dash from XBMP main site.
