I've been running XBMP 2.2 on my box for awhile now, and it works well for the most part. However, I've run into a few problems. I've encountered some files that play on my computer quite well, but will not play on my xbox, and I'm talking about standard .mpg, .mpeg files. When I go to play them, the screen flashes black for a second, then it goes right back to the movie selection screen. I'm thinking maybe I need to update the codes or something in there?!? Does anyone know how to do this?
My other question is, I tried to set up the SMB sharing through the windows file sharing on my computer, and I can't seem to get it to work. I'm running windows 2000, and I set up an account for the xbox, and gave it permissions for the file shares, but it doesn't see the files when I try to get to them from the media player shares. All the other computers on my network can see and access the files, but not the xbox.... any got any ideas or any advice on what I can do to fix these? THanks.
