Samba On Windows ?

I don't get it. I though Samba was only for the non-Windows users to get Windows type sharing eg. under Linux. So if I already have Windows with shared directories I shouldn't need Samba or Relax right ? I just configure XBMP to read 'SMB' type shares. Or is the SMB share not 100% the same as the Windows OS share ?

You don't run samba on windows, it provided access to windows shares for non-windows platforms.  Just configure it like you said to use SMB.
