Samba On Windows ?

So if I already have Windows with shared directories I shouldn't need Samba or Relax right ? I just configure XBMP to read 'SMB' type shares. Or is the SMB share not 100% the same as the Windows OS share ?

You don't run samba on windows, it provided access to windows shares for non-windows platforms.  Just configure it like you said to use SMB.
