Nope, the Xbox does not support DVD-Audio AFAIK.   Only a small amount of players on the market do.

DVD-Audio is not something that can be passed through the optical/coax digital port. So at minimum, you would have to have the 6 channel outputs on the player, and then 6 channel input on your receiver.

If you don't have the outputs, then the player won't DVD Audio.

Why cant DVD audio be passed through the optical output?

Isnt it only 5.1 or 6.1, or DTS audio?

It is expected that for the foreseeable future, all DVD-Audio players will include internal DAC’s (Digital to Analog Converters) and processors with output being provided to six RCA analog connections. The commonly used digital connectors (optical and coaxial) are not capable of handling the data rates that can be generated by a DVD-Audio player.
