Question On Xbmp 2.2
« on: March 17, 2003, 05:34:00 PM »

unsure.gif I've tried to install this XBMP 2.3 and am having the same issue. Seems so simple but I am running into issues. I copied all the files to E:Apps. When I do that, and select XBMP from my menu. I get the error "unable to locate file".
Following the Maunal, I moved the XBOX Media Player.cut to the C directory. After doing that my machine just reboots after selecting XBMP from the menu. Am I missing a file?

This is my evox.ini entry

         Item "DVD-X2","e:Appsdvdx2default.xbe"
         Item "XBMP-2.3","e:AppsXBMPdefault.xbe"
         AutoAddItem "e:apps"

      }

Noe the DVD works fine so I dont think there is a problem with my entry.

I think I'm just overlooking something, I just down  know what.

Does anyone have any ideas? Should I just give up and say the hell with media.

Also, a question on the shared portion of the config.xml. Am I confguring this to shared drives on my PC? I'm just confused on that part b/c it has the configurations for IP addresses and I assume I wouldnt need to configure the IP address if I was loading files directly from my XBOX HD. I'm just confused and basically have no clue to what I'm doing.

Maybe I should just try copyig it with the default settings and not configure the xml. file

Ok first I think you should scrap your config file and start over with a new one.. and DO NOT give up on XBMP, it's the most awesome application for the 'box.

Ok if you think everthing is in the right directory, which seems to be e:apps ... Have you tried to load XBMP from the lauch menu in Evox rather than as a seperate item?

You cannot simply share PC drives on the fly on your xbox.. The "share" name isn't for that kind of sharing.
For the moment, the only thing you should do in the /share section is change the default directories so that they point to where you put your music, videos etc.

For now, try deleting your XBMP folder, FTP over a virgin one, and then try to start XBMP from the launch-apps menu in Evox
