Pictures On Xbox Hd Mp Ver2.2 Very Poor Quality

Using mediaplayer ver 2.2 -- Use it save pictures to xbox HD that were taken with a sony digital camera
that uses a memory stick.  This memory stick can be placed in my new sony TV and the pictures appear very
clear. I copy these pictures from the memory stick to my computer and ftp them to my xbox F drive.
Proceed to the pictures heading in MediaPlayer and open pictures from the HD.  Pictures are the same size but not near as clear as picture from memory stick -- I tried different options in the screen option selection  -- example -Post processing, soften, aspect ratio etc   Nothing helped -- Anyone with similiar problem?  Will media player ver 2.3
help this situation?
