because in FileZilla Server.xml

you have IsHome set as F:\ i.e value of 1

<Permission Dir="F:\">
<Option Name="FileRead">1</Option>
<Option Name="FileWrite">1</Option>
<Option Name="FileDelete">1</Option>
<Option Name="FileAppend">1</Option>
<Option Name="DirCreate">1</Option>
<Option Name="DirDelete">1</Option>
<Option Name="DirList">1</Option>
<Option Name="DirSubdirs">1</Option>
<Option Name="IsHome">1</Option>
</Permission>
</Permissions>
</User>
</Users>
</FileZillaServer>

in your above config.xml file home is where xbmp actually resides . . .

i.e. my home is . . . <home>e:\apps\xbmp</home>

Some Help Configuring Filezilla Server.xml
« Reply #17 on: April 16, 2003, 06:37:00 AM »

I just configured Filezilla and I had great speeds. Better than with EVO X by a long shot. I was hovering around 6000kbps with EVO and with Filezilla i got "Transferred 1 file totaling 97.81 MB in 13.70 (7,401.83 KBps)". Not to shabby.

Thanks for the help DDay. Works like a charm!

Peace

My first prolem is that when I try to connect with Flash FXP I get:

550 CWD failed. "/": Permission denied.
PWD
257 "/" is current directory.

and then when I try to enter C: I get 550 CWD failed. "/C": directory not found
and I cant get inside any folders.

The second problem is that if I change the parameters so the for example F: is the home dir then when I log in I can only see one of my two folders in the F: patrition. "Media" but not "Games". I alos tried th change so that F:*Games would be my home dir and then when I logged in I could only see the folder for one game.. strange?

filezilla is a ftp server.

http://sourceforge.n...ects/filezilla/

But it has been ported as a module for xbox and xbox media player uses that modul.

For xbox it is called xbfilezilla and it is included in the cvs since 11 march i think. dont have exact date in my head right now.

It works in the same way as the ftp in evo-x, you can upload/download files from the xbox harddrive, and is very handy if you use xbmp as a dashboard.

This is probably a silly question:

Is there any way to upgrade the version of Filezilla within XBMP?  I see that the current version is 1.3 something and even though I have the latest XBMP CVS, I'm still running version 1.2

Do we just have to wait until the XBMP people integrate the new Filezilla version?

If you are using flashfxp press F5 to refreash the dirs and try again.

If using anothr client refreash the dirs and it should work as most client cache the dirs used...

That's the problem I get, did you find a way around it?

just type in the name of what drive you want. "C:" and replace the "C" with the drive needed.

In addition to the aforementioned configuration steps, xbfilezilla can also display the free space available on the drives of your xbox.
See the release notes and example filezilla.xml of XBFileZilla 1.3 (not 1.3.0.1) on how to enable dislaying free space at the prompt and how to enable crc and sfv file checking.
Download that release for the release notes, cause they don't show up correctly on the sourceforge website.
XBFileZilla 1.3 release

QUOTE (brainstane @ Jun 4 2003, 07:10 AM)
What I was wondering is if there is any way to browse my computer from my Xbox via FTP. I've had no problems getting into the xbox via FTP (using flashFXP, windows explorer and now Filezilla) but I would really like to be able to browse my computer from my xbox. Is this possible via Filezilla or any other Xbox FTP app?

If it were possible you would still need to run an FTP server on your desktop.

Yes you can.

As stated above you first need a ftp server going on your computor (bulletproof, serv-u etc etc)

then use xtoolbox to ftp in to the computor.
