Accessing Xns Remotely
« on: March 08, 2003, 11:36:00 PM »

Has anyone tried using XBMP remotely? I mean setting up their config.xml to remote IP addresses on PCs running RelaX.

If you are or did, how's the speed?

No no, yes XBMP works nice when your PC is LOCAL.

I am asking whether you setup your config.xml file to access remote files.

Like:

<share>
       <name>Network (XNS)</name>
       <url>d:sounds and [email protected]</url>
            <cachesize>256</cachesize>
     </share>

The IP resides outside your network.

QUOTE
Here is a thought; I wonder if someone could create a XBMP shoutcast server that has all of the sc broken down into categories with folder images, so that we can all point to it. I really don’t think that it would require any bandwidth from the person hosting the server because they are really just links to the shoutcast servers. It would just save everyone the aggravation of creating the sc files and breaking them down into categories with pictures.

Nice idea, but sounds like a ton of work!
