xbmp still locks up when launched from evox on my system - so I'm back to running xbmp as my dashboard atm ...

anyone else having this problem with evox and xbmp ?

OK, so you're saying you used XBMP as your dash and you had no problems playing mp3's from network shares?

I might give that a go.

I have D6 and I run XBMP from a CD, it plays a couple of songs from a samba share then it freezes.

put it of in you settings! and done!

Interesting observation, this seems to suggest that the evox IGR works by patching the game rather than the bios. Evox launches nexgen which gets patches as it's loaded, nexgen launches xbmp which isn't patched.

In game reset? Is that part of Evox dashboard, I'm not running evox dashboard.

I have found a workaround !

with a variety of 2.2 and 2.3 builds from release up to and including 1 March 2003 CVS

Yes, I have the same problem but starting XBMP from Nexgen didn't help. Still freezes... BTW IGR is OFF in my settings

dbailey. If your running X2 as your bios, then I believe that it also converts your code as it loads. I am running X2 4794 and it's igr works great; however, I am having still having problems with media player lockups while the network cable is connected.

As a work around I will probably try running media player from a cd, just to see if it will work that way.

Hey is there a linux port for media player, very cool app.

XBMP is based on mplayer which is available for linux.
