Shoutcast - Streaming Radio Stations

is there a way to stream from radio stations.. i tried one of my  local radios and saving the link which was a windows media "asx" file.  Is there a method to get a address and generate as a .sc file or another procedure that would work.....

yeah i tryed the same thing it didnt work....... anyone out there that knows if this is possible???
