Xbmp2.3 Annoyances As Dash.
« on: February 19, 2003, 02:35:00 PM »

First off, Its well on its way to becoming the greatest dash so far.
Its clean and tidy, the config file is easy to work with.

But there are some things that bug me.

1. No Form Of IGR
I know its an Evo-X invention, but some sort of integration would be nice.

2. No apparent way of dropping back to the MSDashboard if required.

3. The Autodetect feature picks up any XBE file stored in the games folder, not just the default one.
This means, games with multiple XBE's are shown incorrectly.

Maybe something to work on for a CVS?

Apart from those niggles, Keep up the good work.

1. Use the xecutor bios (if you really must)

2. Can't this be done through the My apps interface?

3. Incorrectly?  Do they still work?

There were a couple of hardware IGR solutions way before it was
introduced as a S/W solution.  i.e. the yellow wire mod.

I have yet to use XBMP as a dashboard but there is a reset next to
the power off button.  This is configured in config.xml and can be pointed
at whatever-dash.xbe.

Is this not included in XBMP dashboard ?

I agree keep up the good work on this amazing  F r e E EE EE E piece of S/W   love.gif

Got Evo-X Bios ATM,
I can't be arsed editing the executor one to be blue. and I can't be arsed opening the box again to remove the jumper.

My apps is autodetect too, so I can't seem to point it to the /c/

They work right, but you get 2-3 diffrent files with the same name.

I've done like this: The little yellow button is linked to Evo-X, that way I can go and do stuff in Evo-X that can't be done in XBMP. From Evo-X it's simple to go to MS-dash (who wants to anyway). With Xecuter BIOS, the IGR lets you go back from MS-dash to Evo-X, and from there on I have a link on the main screen to XBMP. This way I can use all of the three dashboards quite easily. And the X2 BIOS 4973 is available in blue, I use it myself (v1.0)
