Samba is not something you install.  It's just a fancy term for Windows file sharing.  Basically, you right-click a folder on your PC, select "Sharing", and create a share.  Read the XBMP manual for details on connecting to your shares.

The alternative to samba sharing is to use RelaX.  The concept of using a separate custom application to share your files can be a little easier to work with.

smb://user:pass@workgroup/machine/share

Make sure you keep the user and password part in there (for your machine) and keep it in there even if your PC doesn't need a user/pass.  Also, make sure the "share" above is exactly the "Share as" folder name in windows.

I'd just like to point out that Samba IS something you install. Samba is an Open Source/Free Software suite that provides seamless file and print services to SMB/CIFS clients. It was developed for inter-OS file and printer sharing. It is an application! I felt it was my duty to point out the ignorance of some people who talk outta their ass and give false information just so that they can look like a know-it-all.
