this is a complete related question. but how do you stop the divx file from caching and running direct from the cd-rw.

i looked in the option setting  and general and nothing says i can disable iso9960 caching. i'm using media player 2.1 and can't fix the problem.

ISO Cashing can be turned off in XBMP2.2.
You have to follow the instructions on how to get it all setup and working correctly first:
Here

ISO9660 doesnt work all that well unti XBMP2.1
(oops, edit: I meant 2.1 not 2.2. XBMP2.2 seems to be working much better)

What are the file sizes of the videos that are not playing back off DVDR?

I cannot get anything over a gig in size to playback at all...
I would like to get an idea of what the file size limitation is...
Thanks

That’s different.
ISO 9660 means that you can use disks that are readable in both your Xbox and PC.
With out a special iso program or iso creation process.

I don’t know about streaming off a PC CDROM or DVD...
Should work don’t see why it would not.
Gives me an idea, thanks!
I will test tonight....

I have not tried including XBMP as the executable from the DVDR
I have been trying to playback the files by browsing the media from XBMP installed on the hard drive.

I will give it a try tho...

I think it has to do with file size...

I can see the files but I cannot playthem back... XBMP just crashes

They are 1.8 or so Divx AVI's that playback fine off the hard drive
and stream back fine off Relax (edit) DVDROM and Hard drive....

Its a known issue on the XBMP forums...
