Locking Hard Drive

I put in a hard drive that can't be locked. All is fine i was just wondering if i would run into problems if it's not locked?

you just can't use msdash when mod disable and no live for you that's all

get to the MS dash? yes
run an unlocked HD? thats bios controlled so it doesnt matter what dashboard you use its always yes
run into problems? im sure you could somewhere
go on Live? no

hey, since were on the topic of locking hard drives

i have a question

i don't want to lock my hard drive because i don't care for xbox live and if its unlocked and if something goes wrong then i'll be safe

so riddle me this

is there a way to get rid of the 05 error that comes up, as i said i DON'T want to lock my hdd for the reasons i just said

i usually turn on my xbox and i get this message 15 times before i can actaully get into my dash

 dont boot the MS bios

any halfway recent hacked bios will boot an unlcoked HD without any error 5 at all

what bios/chip are you using?

i've got that solderless chameleon, you know the gay solderless that im about to smash

right now the bios im using is 4977

im going to get the 4983.06 bios for my 200gb hard drive that im going to get

 yeah thats what i was thinking, but i thought i fixed it, i still get the usually doesn't boot, every once in a while i take it apart and move the chip around and it works for about a week, so maybe i'll just try that again

i'm probably just going to get a new chip, this solderless makes me angry... and you wouldn't like it when im... angry  :evil:
