Rewinding and fordwarding is an issue.

Yes, FFD and RWD does Crash alot from the Game Pad.
Try using the Remote Control. FFD and RWD work pretty good for me with only a slight A/V sinc
problems that can be easily adjusted on the fly...

IMO: The Remote Control is the best and easiest way to use XBMP.

Damn, you know that works too...
Are you running XBMP2.2?

I use both the remote and the gamepad, remote definitely for rewind and fastforward, but real rr and ff would be great, not 3 min jumps.

I'd really like to be able to run movies from FTP.  FTP is basically universal on all Linux/Unix/BSD boxes, and Samba isn't.

Aside from having the mpeg2 ff and rewind fixed (rew doesn't work at all!), I'd like to see a 'bookmark' type feature, where you can bookmark places in movie files etc.

Maybe it already does this but I don't think it does.  How about playing a URL?  So you can play some of the internet radio stations.  If it already does I haven't figured it out yet.  I'm happy with my divx movies and stuff streaming from my pc.

I have a wireless bridge so I'm networked in my living room without any wires.  Very nice stuff from linksys.
