Quicktime = never.    Quicktime isn't an open codec.    Realmedia might come one day tho.

2.2 supports windows media player DLL files. Quicktime is supported by the latest version if you put the right DLL files into the dll FOLDER. See http://www1.mplayerh...eleases/codecs/ for the codecs.

Hey NerdENerd, i checked out that address that u mentioned for codecs.. i mentions that they will not work on any windows based systems.. onlt x86 based unix.... have u tryed them with the boX or are u just speculating???

I'd like to see a config editor built right into the program, and also a sleep timer so the Xbox would turn itself off after playing for 30/60/90/120 minutes...

How about a way to quickly scroll thru a list with the triggers. It's a bit of a pain scrolling down a list of 100 cd's that I've ripped.

Regards,

Btw I don't speak for the dev team, just my observations in working with them as well as a knowledge of programming.

Well

I would always like to see progressions in performance. So always better speeds less audio dysync

Eventual support for the xbox dvd kit.. Alot of us have it.. It would be nice to use in XBMP

more codecs as time goes on..

better networking support. it would be nice just to be abel to network withough runing aserver. so almost like a shared folder on your pc.

Im sure all this stuff is being worked on or planed for the future though

Troll123 - thanks for clarifying this a bit.  Nice, unselfish work you do here - trying to answer all these questions on the media player.  And good to see that one of the actual winamp devs has it on his plan to start some xbox development.

I'm very interested to see the progress on whatever the winamp dev is going to do...

Also streaming an ISO game from a server is VERY unlikely because once you start the game you lose the connection to the streaming server. Can't run more than one xbe at a time on the xbox. If this were going to be possible it would have to be done in the bios.

.TS is esentially MPG with some extra stuff for broadcasting the hdtv stream.

so xbmp plays wmv9, i was unaware, i will have to try when i get home.

TS probably needs a faster processor than the xbox currently has.  I know that PCs slower than 2.0 ghz have some trouble with HDTV playback without a hardware decoder.
