Xbmp 2.2 - Disable Iso Caching ?
« on: January 12, 2003, 06:00:00 AM »

Ok iot seems it has changed.. but the option in the settings menu does not indicate this.
i think it must toggle when you click on A but not show its status.
Maybe a bug. I would rather post this on the xbmp site... thats if their forum would let me start new threads!

Snooy007 is right to fix it:
Replaced with these files from XBMP2.1 or 2.0
common-font13.xpr
common-font14.xpr
common-font64.xpr

I did not have the freezing problem others have mentioned at all.
I just made sure to add my original xml settings to the new xml config file
and copied over every file on the xbox with the new ones from XBMP2.2
Except I had to go back in and replace the font files from XBMP2.1 to make the
general settings tabs Viewable.

I suggest copying XBMP2.2 over to its own folder on the xbox and run it as a seperate app
instead of upgrading or replacing until your sure that's the one you want.

I have 3 versions of XBMP that I can run at any given time this way.

Apparently the freezing problem was due to a bug with EvoX IGR
If you turn it off it works fine.
But there is a newer release today that fixes the problem with 2.2
so you can keep EvoX IGR

I did a quick search the problem at http://www.xboxmediaplayer.de
and came up with the deleting bin file out of the tdata 007 folder again and this fixed the problem for some.
Check it out.
Thats the place to hammer folks with bugs and a deeper search on problem related to XBMP

The black screen problem could just be that you didn't wait long enough. Because when the Cache from Iso9660 option is turned off it goes straight to a black screen once you select to play the file - then it takes a little while before the movies starts i.e - you have to wait while it streams the first bit of the movie before it starts. Well thats how it is for me - might be the problem - just wait a little and see if it starts - (no more than like 19 secs though)
