Could Someone Write A Noob Guide 4 Xbmp2
« on: December 18, 2002, 09:05:00 AM »

i think Relax is kinda easy to set up.

I am newbie too, since i don't want to run it as service, i run the relax_ns.

u then just navigate the directory where u have all the media stuff, movie..etc and drag that folder to that divx directory on the left tree. Of course u can rename that divx directory to anything u want.

You really should just play with it yourself, as it's quite easy to figure out... There's alot more gratification in conquoring it yourself rather than reading a step by step anyways.

I agree it's easy to figure out except it doesn't work

when I check my relax log it says something like cannot bind 1400 - socket error port and ip already in use

and no, I am not running any firewall of any sorts, not even the included windows xp firewall

have u set the ip address in your xml config file in the xbmp folder? u need to tell them where is your relax server ip.  just use note pad open that xml file and edit the ip address, also u maybe set the relax server to to look for your xbox ip too.

ok, I managed to get part of it fixed
cleaned out any unnessary services on my system and now the connection succeeds but I still don't get any files on xbox

this is the exact log from relax:

192.168.1.12    2 Incomming connection from 192.168.1.12
192.168.1.12    1 Security passed...
192.168.1.12    1 Waiting for greeting
192.168.1.12    1 received greeting :HELLO XSTREAM 6.0
192.168.1.12    1 Sending greeting : HELLO XBOX!
192.168.1.12    1 Waiting in endles loop for commands
192.168.1.12    1 Command gotten : *CAT
192.168.1.12    1 param : ,e:\movies
192.168.1.12    0 End of it all
connection lost 0 Disconnected

e:\movies is the path where my files are on my pc ( where relax is running )

this is the mplayer config.xml

<configuration>

<media>

   <map>E:,Harddisk0\Partition1</map>
   <map>F:,Harddisk0\Partition6</map>

   <local>
      <music>f:\music</music>
   <pictures>f:\pictures</pictures>
   <videos>f:\movies</videos>
   </local>

   <remote>
      <music>e:\[email protected]</music>
   <videos>e:\[email protected]</videos>
   </remote>

   <dashboard>xboxdash.xbe</dashboard>

</media>

</configuration>

What am I doing wrong ?

I am running windows xp pro on Ntfs disks, dunno if that has something to do with it ?
I was thinking that since I never had to enter any security settings in mplayer I have no clue with which user it connects.

Any help here would certainly be appreciated.
