Unable To Select Anything In Advanced Options
« on: June 12, 2006, 11:46:00 AM »

I'm unable to select anything in personal settings -> advanced options. Pressing up/down doesn't show visually. I'm using 2006-06-11 CVS T3CH and Beta 0.97499 and have removed 0face.. in udata and tdata.

Anyone else with the same problem? Is it possible to fix this issue? Can I modify an xml file to set the options manually?

Your XBE has NOT been updated. The sympton you discribe is that of an old xbe, you might have an old XBE in your C:\ root.

Follow the instructions in the XBMC Install instructions.

Make sure your FILES ON UPLOAD ARE OVERWRITING AND NOW RESUMING or just wipe your XBMC in another app like Unleash X and install fresh.

I'm also having this same problem. And I did a clean install (previously deleted everything through UnleashX) of the latest XBMC, so there has to be another reason for it to do that...

Anyone else having this problem?

Yea I am having the same problem. I installe the latest 6-11tech release from the usual places. I also used jezzx's new mc360 skin release from blackbolt's download page. I have problems with it freezing when i go to the settings menu (far right purple one). I also have problems with it freezing when I go to movie preview.

I simply reinstalled the old release and am just gona use that and try the next release out.

The skin is pretty sweet though.

I am also trying to make a 360 case for my origional xbox so its like nice nice instead of just nice wink.gif

I've followed the instructions. I've put the new XBMC build in a new directory.

In my C: root I'm using the evoxdash.xbe and evoxdash.cfg file provided in the T3CH release (_tools dir). Do I need to update evoxdash.xbe? I only updated evoxdash.cfg with the new directory. I thought that was the whole idea with these shortcuts? Do I need to update the evoxdash.xbe with the new "SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe" in _tools aswell?

Update: I've removed XBMC-666 completely. I'm now 100% sure that I'm using 2006-06-11 T3CH with beta 97499. I've also removed the 0face folders. evoxdash.xbe and .cfg in C: root has been replaced with the latest .xbe and .cfg from the _tools folder.

I'm still unable to select anything in personal settings -> advanced options. Everything else, like previews of background images works as expected. This is the only bug I'm experiencing.

plug in a network cable. this should fix it. I assume you don't see the option "Disable RSS Feeds" in the advanced settings menu, right? it seems to get disabled when no network cable is selected. Maybe you also have to enable the RSS feeds in the XBMC settings as well.I noticed this on monday but I had to leave and couldn't report it two days ago.

I see the option Disable RSS Feeds (and all the other options) but I'm unable to edit any of the settings. I can't disable the background animation, etc.

I can fix this bug!!!!

First delete the xbmc dir...

Delete the save game from UIX....

Install again clean....

The when xbmc runs with proyect mihem III....

Choose the MC360 skin...

Then select the other themes (This is the fix!)

Make sure you preview the themes before go out from this screen!!!!

Now choose any of the themes....

Shut down....

Start again and everything is perfect!!  no more freeze....    pop.gif

lwessman....

The personal -> Advanced Settings i think... this options are only
changed from an xml file....  not inside the xbmc....

Freeze? I didn't have any freeze.  huh.gif I'm unable to select anything in advanced options. I've read in other threads that this should be possible.

Ok we think we know what the problem is and we think we have fixed it if you want to try it yourself try this
(This isn't the same way we fixed it but its the same concept)

open up custom1123_Advanced.xml in your text editor search for
CODE

    RSS Button
    radiobutton

go to the <visible> line in that control should be down about 10 more lines
and change it from this
CODE
![Window.IsActive(1121) | Window.IsActive(filebrowser)] + System.HasNetwork

to this
CODE
![Window.IsActive(1121) | Window.IsActive(filebrowser)]

Basically we think that xbmc isn't detecting your network properly and is hiding the cotrol and your being forced to start with a hidden control and since its hidden you can't move

--------------------------------------------
Or a simpler way to try first that we arenot as sure off would be at the top of that file change
CODE
1

to
CODE
