Fixing A Bad Flash On A 1.4/1.5
« on: January 19, 2006, 01:29:00 AM »

I tried my first TSOP flash with no luck.  I used Slayers 2.6 disc with the X2-4981 bios to flash my v1.4/1.5 xbox.  The erase completed and the writing began, but the completion bar did not move at all.  I waited about 2.5 minutes and nothing.  So, I turned of my xbox and rebooted, and of course FRAG ($hit).  I threw in my solderless Xenium and everything works fine.  Is there any way for me to fix the TSOP now?  Lordvarder, I hope you can help me.

The only way you can fix the TSOP is if you solder in a 29 wire modchip, boot from that, disable and then reflash. Instead of it flashing the modchip, it'll flash the TSOP. Then you can remove the modchip altogether.

Once you boot off the LPC port, you effectively disable any and all access to the TSOP.
