Need To Fix Any Xbox
« on: April 06, 2005, 08:44:00 PM »

Ok I have the chance to get two xboxs for $50.  One sounds like it have a bad motherboard and the other sounds like the bios was flashed and failed.  Has anyone booted an xbox from a diffrent xbox bois remotely.  Like jumping from one mothboard to another.  I was thinking I could boot off an xbox I knew was good then cut the wires after it booted a game then use a softmod to get new bois on it.  I assume the bois is loaded in the ram after it loads.  Anyone tried this? <

You could repair the TSOP with a devil mod chip.

Check this tut here

I knew I could do that.  I was hoping that I may be able to fix it not using a mod chip.

I think I can the way I said.  Guess we will see when I get it. <

If the bios is hosed, you need a 29 wire to repair or lpc mod to bypass. <

Wiring one xbox to another afaik won't work.  It's been asked before and everyone always says it won't work.  I haven't tried it nor know anyone who has, so if you wanna risk it, you can try, but I highly doubt it would work. <

What would stop it from working?  I don't see why it would not boot off the eprom. <

if you already have the xboxs you need to install a modchip regardless to see if it even boots. if it frags then you got a problem board that may not be repairable. and if one works and you have no modchip you could easyly flash one bios and solder it to the other and see if it boots that way if you are expect solderer

not if you had a tsop socket, you could hotswap and recover a bad flash without using a 29 wire mod there is a tut in the pinned section for that.

in my honest opinion 2 xbox's for 50 bucks broken. not worth the money just cause people assume it's repairable and 9 times out of 10 it ain't, why else would you sell it.? <

Because most ppl with xboxs don't know how to fix these kinds of problems.  I'd try to look at it first before buying, just to make sure nothing is physically damaged, since hosed tsops are fixable. <
