Burned Mobo?
« on: March 12, 2005, 07:30:00 PM »

While bridging the do points on the under side of the mobo, I think I may have burnt shit.  It's a little blackened, and it seems like there's kinda a glaze over that area or something(I removed the solder).  Am I fucked?  Please help, Thanks. <

Does it frag, or is it dead?

Should be fixable, depending on how badly you have buggered it.

Sounds like your iron is too hot...  a 15W iron is plenty. <

I am only using a 15w iron.  It turned on then immedeatily off, then it wouldn't turn back on.  I then took the solder off and haven't touched again yet. <

I was fucking with the solder points, trying all day to flash the god damn TSOP.

Now when i turn it on, it powers on for about 2 seconds then off then on for 2 seconds then it comes on properly but doesnt output anything...

I REMEMBER THE OLD DAYS IN THE XBOX SCENE WHEN I WAS UPTO DATE WITH EVERYTHING!!  sad.gif

Its weird, that was some goooooooood times. <

ok, just tried it out again and at least i'm getting a frag.  It's my friends xbox.  It's weird, it's constantly powered on.  You have to plug/ unplug it in order to power on/off.  It was like that b4 though, just mentioning it in case anyone has any input. <

it turns on, says that my xbox needs service, then turns off after a couple of seconds.  Is there still hope?  BTW, power issue is somehow fixed now. <

Can you take a picture of the area you burnt? Why were you messing with the d0 points on a TSOP flash? <
