Problems Flashing 14 Or 15
« on: March 12, 2005, 02:29:00 AM »

i have soldered all 3 points and evox and raincoat are saying 0x09 invalid id or flash not writable...could this be due to anything else besides bad solder (we resoldered it like 3 times already)?...so far i have done 3-4 xboxes without any problems...tnx for the info <

If you're 100% sure your solder points are good, then make sure your TSOP is listed in the evox.ini.

0x09 means your points are NOT soldered correctly.  Redo them. <

What I don't understand is if raincoat reported that it couldn't erase the chip, why is it FRAGging now? What else did you do?

Depending on what you've done depends on your next move.

hehe...ok...this what happened...we tried to flash it with 1m for sure and its 1.4 or 1.5...so it gave the error as i described...maybe it did erase it but couldnt flash it all the way or something like that, cause i can vaguely remember it sayd...flashing...maybe smile.gif...then i disconnected it (i was at my friends house at the time) and took it home where it does this :

on power up :  1 sec flash green...reboot...1 sec flash green...reboot....1 sec flash green...red/green/red/green/red/green/...etc etc

what u think i should do?

You've FRAGged the TSOP. Either permanently fit an LPC modchip or use a 29-wire mod to fix the TSOP. Those are your only options.

If you use the new version of raincoat 0.7... You can't go wrong... If you flash a 256k file to a 1 meg TSOP it will flash it 3 more times to fill the rest of the chip..

So really all you will ever need is a 256k file... For all the boards... but not for 1.6... Sad but true...

To flash a 1.6 tsop read the Sticky!  tongue.gif <
