Hdd Question
« on: May 26, 2003, 03:50:00 PM »

Hey all,

I am looking at getting a 120gb HDD and I have been reading that the 7200rpm HDD is too hot for the XBOX. Obviously the 7200rpms drives will deliver greater performance, but are there people out there using a 7200rpm HDD without the need of additional cooling? If so, could you please post the type of HDD you own. Thanks.

Sephiroth kicks @$$!!!

Anyway, a 7200 rpm drive doesn't give you any kind of advantage in a Xbox, so you might as well just try to find a nice 5400 rpm drive at a lower price.

With that said, I don't believe the heating is that major of a problem (at least with certain drives), but I would add at least another fan underneath the HDD (there is a tutorial on this).

I hope this helps.
