This may also be a newb-ish question but it says the skin is for XBMC 2.0. Has 2.0 been released yet? I thought it was in a 'bug-bash' in preparation for 2.0?

M$ only has something like 16 megs to mess with the dashboard with.
People take for granted what the hdd did for the xbox's original dash. I think the 360's dash is great for it's size. Lets see XBMC come under that limit. (not nocking XBMC in any possible way) The build I have is 93 megs and it's from a while back. You'd have to compair it to a simple dash like Evolution X or Avalaunch.

Amazing - been waiting for months and months for this!

XBMC is already in my opinion the best media centre solution on the planet, full stop. Part of that statement is also because it's free (excluding a donation or two). This skin will really do it a universe of extra good!...on top of the excellence that XBMC already is.

Also a little techie question - will this skin consume more RAM than PM3? or isn't that really an issue to be worried about?

Well the skin has been totally optimised to hell during its production. At the moment the download on the skin size is 3mb compared to Project Mayhems 21mb.

Also the skin does use alot less memory than PM3 yes because our skin is using very small textures for most things, and those textures are optimised and in the correct format, whereas PM3 is using large unformated images that arent optimised.

I've only been casually following this.  It's a nice looking skin and it obviously took a lot of work.  Since it is only a skin that means that no other features for XBMC have been unlocked or added due to this, right?  I ask because people are going on about how this will lead them to "dust off the xbox" and play it again.         Um, the skin won't be active in-game/movie/music/script so what are you going to do, stare at the different blade screens for hours?  Just a reality check here.  I'm excited about it, but I don't think it's going to make me play Halo 2 more often.

It doesn't look like it has the option for the scrolling rss feeds.

I like that option on xbmc.
