Thinking About Getting A Tsop'd Xbox
« on: December 07, 2004, 04:15:00 PM »

right well i've found a TSOP'd xbox for £70, and i'm considering getting it.

trouble is i'm too n00b to know any reason why to get it over a chipped box.
so, can you tell me what makes a TSOP'd xbox any better or worse that a chipped xbox?
so, for example, would i be better getting a TSOP'd xbox or an xbox with an xecuter 2.6/3?

The TSOP will be able to do what a chip can, however, the benefits of having a chip range in features. For example, you can run a chip OS, turn on and off the chip, have multiple bios, and have other physical features. If you just want a modded Xbox and don't care about all the other fuss, go TSOP. :)

Yeah - if they flash it with a Evox M7 or M8 or Xecuter 4981 or 4983 you should have no problems

either 1 big F drive or F & G drive on ya 300gb

TSOP is great - just wished MS pre-bridged them points - lol

right, well i just emailed the seller about what bios it's got flashed, and i think basically i can have any that i want.

amongst the long and confusing message about bios flashing was this -

QUOTE
xecuter 4981 or 4983 comes as .06 or .67

.06 = F drive takes remainder after basic 8gb is formatted - on a
300gb that means aprox 292gb F drive

.67 = F drive goes up to 137gb limit - or 129gb after 8gb is made,
G drive will then be 163gb aprox - 300 - 137(the previous bios
limit)

Evox M7 or M8 usually only let have up to 137gb then G took
remainder - much like xecuter 4981.67

BUT you can have a custom M7 that takes the F drive to 292gb much
like 4981.06 - no G drive needed

What bios you use is up to you. If you was using Evox as your main
primary dashboard then evox M7 is a really good n stable bios - not
really for live but with a tsop you ain't going live. the F & G
partitions might be good coz then you won't have a massive list of
stuff just on F but rather it spread out over the two similar size
partitions F 129 & G about 163gb

with my installer there are some of these bios's that you can flash
the tsop with

now i dont really know much about how the xbox partitioning works so i dont really understand the above  :o
