Is This Possible?
« on: December 07, 2004, 04:43:00 PM »

i've got a 1.0 xbox with matrix modchip.

i got banned from xbox live so i brought a new harddrive & eeprom 2 fix it so i can get back on and noticed strange things.

if i pull the modchip out and power xbox up, it wont work i get a m$ error code.
If the chips in disabled mode it will still load evoX (if its on the harddrive) = my old xbox live banned harddrive.
Or will disabled on my new harddrive (only has m$ original stuff on it) it will still load all of my 1:1 dvd backup games.

someone said my tsop may be flashed with my chip bios or another bios, could i have flashed the tsop in anyway through evoX or the Slayer install discs ?

thanks 4 any help :)

If it loads evox with the chip disabled then your TSOP is probably flashed.  But the strange thing is you get a different status if you remove the chip.  It sounds like the chip isn't disabling and your TSOP isn't flashed.  I would assume that your evox is named xboxdash.xbe on your C: and thats what the original bios tries to load and gives an error cause its not original.  Disabling the modchip should give you the same results as removing it....so good luck.

Have you tried installing the new drive and running configmagic to lock it, then remove the chip and see what happens?  (should boot to MSDash and not play backups)

tried with another drive retail orignial one.

with the chip enabled or disabled it loads m$ dash as normal
when the chip is taken out of the xbox, it flashs red/green, there's no error code, no sound or picture !

what does this mean?

could the tsop have been flashed though? alls i got is a no solder matrix modchip and using evox and slayer discs, is it possible to still flash the tsop?
i though you had to solder points on the motherboard to flash the tsop.

p.s. someone has suggested my modchips disable is broke also, but how does this explain my xbox screwing up as soon as i take the chip out?

You TSOP (the original BIOS) got screwed...
Maybe you tried to flash withouth unlocking the bios (i did it to my 1st box)

there's a way to fix the problem, check the tutorials to repair buggy tsops with matrix
(be warned... you need to solder several points to do so...)

I hope you still have the backup dir with you original TSOP.

And remember, live is banning xbox & hd serials that aren't the same.

So, If you're trying to unban you X, I think you can't, because is black listed...

Get a new console, they're cheaper now =)

Saludos

after looking at the tutorials for use on tsop flashing with a 1.0 box with a matrix chip, it says i have to solder to points on the motherboard to flash the tsop.
This points havn't been soldered, so the problem must be with something else.
