Tsop Flashing With Raincoat
« on: November 17, 2004, 01:42:00 AM »

I gave up on the mechassualt with raincoat its doesn't work. At least with what I have it doesn't.

I can use the mechassualt with evox.
So I can get FTP access. I FTPed over raincoat and raincoat.conf to the c:/ directory. I also FTPed over a bios

Now from a windows command line I type telnet 192.168.0.2 and get access to the xbox.
I can see the directory with dir so I know raincoat is there. When I type raincoat -r bios1.bin I get unknown command "raincoat"

Anyone know whats wrong this is so fricking frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't ask me for a username or password when I telnet in.

I thought "./raincoat -r orig_bios.bin" was the backup original bios command

And "./raincoat -p bios.bin" was to flash ur new bios located in the raincoat folder

Also, if ur telnetting in and using raincoat, u didn't say how u were telling telnet to look for the raincoat files...as per the splinter cell command, when u put the raincoat stuff in the E:\UDATA folder, it goes like this:

cd ../../media/E/UDATA/21585554/000000000000/raincoat

So just modify where u got ur raincoat stuff and telnet accordingly and it should work....

I'm trying to do a backup before I try a flash reading the flash won't harm anything. Easy way to learn without srewing anything up.

I'm not sure why you would need to barry raincoat in that many files. I just coppied raincoat and raincoat.conf to the root directory c:

So I typed c:/raincoat -r bios1.bin

Telnet comes back with unknown command "raincoat"

it's not working because you're not loading raincoat correctly...  first off...  the only readon you're able to get into the box through telnet is becuase evox allows you to telnet in and change a few things (not related to raincoat at all).
You shouldn't be touching files in the C directory..  everything you need should be loaded within the gamesave folder. If you have evox booting it is simple to take the xbes and necessary folders out of another gamesave and put t hem in your working save dir. over through ftp. just change the default.xbe files to change between booting to evox or raincoat.

You're not going to get raincoat to load the way you're doing it. Get the gamesave working and you'll be in buisness.

Yeah, matter of fact, if u can ftp into the xbox, why not just upload the original mechassault package gamesave files into the E:\UDATA folder like ur supposed to and use the commands like i showed u above, then it'll work no problem.

Because I have tried that and it does not work. I wish when people built these exploits they would contain a little more documentation like
1. Version of xbox made for
2. Version of dash designed for
3. M$ bios version

Well....raincoat is made for all versions of xbox but 1.6 and will work with all dashboards and the MS bios version doesn't matter.  Do it the right way and it will work.

If it's not working then there's something wrong with the gamesave itself...If u put the gamesaves into the e:\udata folder, it will work...re-download the package u need and put the folders (not the entire zip, and the entire udata folder) in e:\udata and try it again.

Tried that doesn't work.  The only tutorial I have ever got to work was the one with for flash with LPC mod.

I don't have 007 so I can't try those exploits. Someone should creat a tutorial on the exploits that actually work and with what version box. These tutorial that are put together with a bunch of missing info is a real pain at least link to the other tutorials.

If I ever figure out how to get this to work I will write one.

I'm going to install a mod chip and try that tutorial again the mechassualt with raincoat just doesn't work at all.

Telneting in and using raincoat also doesn't work.

Well i dunno how well installing a mod and trying to flash the tsop is going to work for u, in my opinion that's a waste of time to try to flash the tsop if u've already got a mod installed....can someone tell me what the point of that is?

Anyway, there is no version specific tutorial needed for using raincoat/exploiting gamesaves...it's all the same for all the versions besides 1.6 of course...

The only thing with tsop flashing that varies from 1.0-1.5 is the unlock pads u have to bridge to be able to flash the tsop, which i wanted to ask ya, have u checked, double and triple checked with a meter?

Put it like this, if u got a good non-corrupted gamesave on ur mem card, put it on ur xbox's hdd, run the game, exploit in, telnet, IT WILL FLASH THE TSOP, considering u got the unlock points correct and all...

BTW which brand tsop do u have in ur box?

Somewhere I read that a certain version of the M$ bios does not allow the 4920 dash which would make the exploits that require it useless. But the finding this information is not easy.

As far as soldering the points yes they're soldered but it doesn't matter because I can't even get to the point of flashing the chip.

I have used mechassualt with evox and this works to get FTP access. But since its a Windbond chip it wont flash it. So now I am stuck with using raincoat which is what I would prefer. But getting it to work is another story.

I have tried loadning evox then telneting in using command promt and using raincoat -r bios1.bin it say the "raincoat command is invalid

The point of flashing your TSOP when you already have a mod chip is currently the mod chip is in another box I have. I don't like unistalling and reinstalling it but this is what I am left to do since this is the only tutorial I have got to work.

Hey, xokia, just get your hands on 007 auf. I paid 10 bux at a local block buster - "used games" for this. Man it was soo easy!! Just downloaded 007 with raincoat 07 version, then upload them to your save game dir. boot up the original 007 auf game, load mission - harddrive, then everything goes black and telnet is automatically ran!! It's awesome. I'm sure you probably have the wrong game or wrong save files in mech dir....

then attack the box!!! :grr:

yeeaaahhh boy...

Heres the deal maybe I am having the same problem some others have had.

I have a 1.2 xbox manufactured 11-03-2004

It will not boot the 4920 dash

I finally was able to flash this with the mechurasia exploit. The only problem I have is I flashed with the 4983.06 and it does not identify the bios correctly It also no longer says executer at the boot it says MS. It says I have a M7 bios.

All is well though.
