I uploaded a v2.0 compliant version of The Orbs here:

There aren't relevant changes because I'm mostly helping out with MC360 development, so this skin is still 4/3 only but it works with latest xbmc.

And that's the feature that make this skin as my default skin on my xbox since the day it came out!!

i just now tried it out, and holy SHIT its nice! i will post some screenies in another day or two once my Flickr account gets reset (they have a monthly upload limit on the free accounts).
i am extremely impressed, though i can see why some users may find the way it displays thumbnails to be annoying:

near as i can tell, the skin cleverly uses a transparent overlay "frame" graphic, which sits on top of the normal icon graphic. users of Photoshop will get what i mean.
i agree that it should be a toggleable option, you could simply make it a skin state which is controllable inside of the Settings, much like the PMIII animation toggle.

and speaking of animation, this skin makes very effective use of the new engine's animation features (IMO).
OOH it uses the same sort of icon "framing" for My Music. cute (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
