Madcat Media Browser Script
« on: September 19, 2007, 10:35:00 AM »

Hey all, Xbmcscripts uploads are down so thought I'd post this here so someone can get some use out of it.
Moved around a bit and took the Streamdrive spider down, the script was also dropped after the Xbmcscript format change.

Basically the spider pulls rss feeds and drops all of the items to db on our end.
You can then watch each category in Xbmc, ie the sports channel, cooking channel, video games channel.

Theres about 30 active channels at the moment. 683 feeds. 21215 videos and counting.
Feeds can be submitted to http://www.getmadcat.com/?op=submit

Theres a windows PC client that uses VLC where you can browse each feed, or you're own opml directory, kinda like Miro(democracy).
I'll be adding a send to Xbmc feature to that.
You can already use a 360 controller with it to control the video.

You can get the Xbmc script from http://getmadcat.com/deploy/xbmc/MadCat_Me...-16-09-2007.zip

Have fun watching (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Cool script, works well. Thanks for releasing it.

Only real issue I have with it is that it does not scale to 720p, otherwise it's just great.

Good to know, I'll try some different resolutions in the pc environment, hopefully it should show the issue.
I'm pretty sure theres a few samples for scaling. I'll have a boo.

I've had some issues with some files lagging up, but changed the cache settings to 2048 and that seemed to iron most of the buffering issues I had.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
