I killed my TSOP trying to flash it, I was just stupid. I put a bios that was too old for the focus chip. So now one dead eXBOX

I just ordered a xecuter lite, it will get it up add running again.
From all the reading because I have a version 1.4 with only 256K bios I can't reflash the TSOP without a 29pin chip.

But I had a thought, would this work?

Install xecuter lite, get it running.
The load the PBL with a bios,
soft reboot(IGR) so I'm still using the PBL bios.
Turn off the xecuter lite while xbox is running(

)
Flash the TSOP bios.

Would this work?
If not could you explain why not, so I don't keep thinking about it

"soft reboot" IGR isn't actually booting from TSOP, still from LPC (it doesn't reboot) so no you can't flash by loading a bios from PBL. Even if you did turn the x2 off. <

shouldnt ur xbox boot fine even though u dont have focus support?

cause then u could boot blindly.. and flash blindly via raincoat and maybe a gamehack

no, it wont boot at all, the bios looks at the hardware, relaizes its incompatible, then sends a boot failure messege back to the MCPX, which then gives the FRAG LED flashing code <

29 wire mod or tsop replacement.. i've done both, out of laziness a tsop replcement.. but now i use a 29 wire xray3chip cause all the wires are the right length well depends how long you want to wait.. international mail takes a while but well worth the wait.. just don't loose you password and use the wrong email address or you'll be left in the dark on shipping:) <
