I wonder about the sub-directory sorting in the rom listing...
Is there anyone (python coder) interested in give a help
on this matter?

As a heavy user of this script, I think it is a important
feature that must be there!

I'll probably get around to doing updates at some point but other stuff is getting in the way at the moment...

Stanley is correct though..Most of us had no python experience or any programming experience but weve all managed to create some great and usefull scripts to enhance the fantastic work of the XBMC team..

Have a go a creating yourself some simple scripts...Its not as difficult as it seems...

Sure this is the world of the "learn by yourself"!

My academic formation is on design area (visual communication)
but I am a internet rat since 1995 learning all the HTML, CSS,
JS and recently PHP and MYSQL all by myself.

Maybe it's time to jump onto Python?

Im thinking this script needs a decent re-write.
It needs to be moved over to WindowXml so WAY better skinning can be used,
also animations etc etc.

Im going to begin this shortly and keep you posted on the progress,]
I will be adding this to a new SVN over at XBMC-Scripting.

PM me if anyone else is keen to help - (mainly some GFX ARTIST's would be needed, and some good XML coders)

Good luck stanley...

I personally didnt move over to WindowXml to ensure that people using the stable 2.0.1 release would be able to use the software. Moving to WindowXML cuts out those users who dont upgrade to the bleeding edge revisions..

If you need any assistance then let me know as Ive not really put in any additional effort into this really and it does what I wanted it to do so. The only real addition that I would like is for the Emulators to exit the application completely if started via a autoload of a game..I do believe that Xport has these features in his SVN bust has not rolled them out yet...

Hi All,

I was thinking of doing some updating of this to bring it upto date with windowxml. I was originally against it but  have recently modified my other project to use windowxml and there are some nice features..

so, Stanley87 if your in the progress of updating this or are still willing to take this task on I'll leave it alone.

Or I will look into upgrading it. But what would be good is to see what people want kept from the initial release and what new stuff people would like to see done.

Any ideas... blink.gif

I'm sorry I don't know a whole lot about scripts, but this one really interests me. However when I run it, it only works once. If I click it again nothing happens, expect it says running, and then stops. Whatsup? Thanks for the help.

I think this was because of a missing dir in the retro-x folder.

Just put a folder in there called Games (or if it's already there, backuup and delete it)... should solve your problem.

How extensive will skin customization be? I'd like to add my own designs and it's not currently possible with Xports (or any of the other ones I know) emulators.
