Speaking of heavy handed....
We attempted a ram upgrade recently and botched it royally. I really does not seem that difficult, now that we have watched kingviper's vids again, and see what it actually takes.
The only end problem we have, now that we've removed our botched memory chips, is that my roommate, while pulling off the last chip, removed a pad from the mobo. Is this going to be a problem if there's no memory even in that slot? I have tried to boot the box, but it's fraggin. It has many other modifications, however, so I'm hoping it's something else.
Oh, and if anyone's looking to buy ram, we got ours off broken mobo's from ebay for $15. Adds the process of removing the ram first, but it's not that difficult to remove if you're patient, which I think is the most important part of upgrading your memory.
