Big Problems -- Big Surprise! Plz Help!
« on: April 25, 2004, 05:51:00 AM »

I don't know what the heck happened.

I have been trying to fix a friends xbox and all of a sudden after I loaded the files on via xlinux and unlocking the drive with hdunlock. I fragged.

I re-locked the hdd and I know the key was good cuz I have already done it probably 40 times in the last 2-3 days (not how swapping).  I triple checked to make sure the key entered was right and it was.

I boot up the xbox and before the flubber stopped it was already flashing green and red.

This all started because a friend changed his NTSC setting from M to J (through xbox media player).

I couldn't get evox to load through pbl & the audio hack.  I finally fixed that, after I copied everything over to test it...  Now this.

Now, the wierd thing is I try to unlock the HDD to use in xlinux and, xlinux still can't read it.  I try to lock the drive or use hddisabl and it says device not ready.

I DID NOT flash anything.

I thought maybe I screwed up the drive so I took another xbox drive that I have and unlocked it then, re-locked that one with this key I was using.  And same thing.

I don't know what the heck happened.  Is it possible the TSOP just fried on it's own and maybe took the HD with it.  Because, I didn't do anything wrong to this thing.

I AM PUZZLED any help would be much appreciated.  <

Why on EARTH are you hot swapping? This is for exploits! Get a old copy of Mechassult or 007 and use and exploit and do it that way to flash your TSOP. Make sure all points for TSOP access are enabled as well. If it cant bootup you might have a corupted m$ dash. Use SlaYers 2.5 to restore the dash. If you cant bootup get an Xecuter 2 mod chip for tempory purposes.

No no no no no...  I wasn't how swapping I was just putting in the drive booting up the PC and using a program in dos to unlock the hdd.

Everything was fine until the hdd locked and then I could unlock it.  I don't know why because I check and triple checked the key and it definitely was correct.  But now I can't get into it.  All I get is error 6.
