Oh Dear God! What Have I Done!
« on: April 21, 2004, 07:43:00 AM »

Ok, Here is the deal. I Have done many v1.1 box flashes and then I opened the case on this box and it was a v1.3. I Went to the tutorials on how to solder all the points on the mobo (There were only 2 on the top of the board). I transferred the 007 gamesave and ran the 007 game. got all the screeching tires etc. Then I used the telnet commands to flash. Now the xbox will not start up. What do I do now??? Is there any way to fix this or am I just screwed??   <

Which bios did u use? A 256K or a 1M? What chip is used in de the xbox? If it is a 1M chip and u flashed the 1ste bank (first 256K) is won't boot. If it is a 1M chip (008 or 080 in the product number) and u used a 256K bios u need to solder 2 wires. Find it in the forums here. I thougt is was A18 and A19 to ground. There are some pictures here for the best solder places.  <

I didn't use a chip at all... I used a 1M bios at first then it said there was not enough available memory when I tried to flash. So I used the 256 and thats where it went wrong.

So what's the 32-pin device that you reflashed, then?  I always thought it was a chip.

What BIOS did you use?

Raincoat is a linux program, not a BIOS.  Do you know what file you flashed with?  It would be the italicized part of this: ./raincoat -p biosfileyouused.bin  <

I'm very sorry and I am glad you are being so patient. The bios I used came out of the raincoat file and was named 256. I renamed it to bios.bin to flash.  <

Try opening in XBTool the bios.bin file you used.  Hopefully it will be able to identify it.  However it is most likely to be a bios incompatible with the 1.3, so you will need to use a 29-wire modchip to fix this TSOP like this: http://www.xraychips.com/Xray3.htm  <

U flashed a wrong bios. never use the one supplied with a flasher. Always read the forums to make sure you have the right bios for your xbox. U can buy a new one or use the 29wire mod. Good luck :)  <

Nope that will not work for what you did at all, you need a homebrew 29 wire mod to fix the tsop or you can just buy a cheap mod chip (Applex V, Duo-X, Alladin, etc) and wire it in but wire the D0 directly to ground, which forces it to only boot via the LPC bus.

no, you flashed a 256k bios to a 256k chip, so its booting the bios, problem is the bios is bad

you NEED a modchip, either 29-wire to fix the TSOP or LPC just to get it going (cant fix the TSOP with it though)  <
