sorry for askin so many questions, but I really need some help now. Ok where to start...................mmmmmmmmm, I have done so many things to get this thing modded, I'm gettin really muddled.

Right first I have a 5530/5653 box, lucky me. Okay so I did the soldering 3 sets of points 1 below, two above- OK.

Loaded mech game save to get evox lite so could ftp - OK

Then backed up whole xbox drive to PC - OK

Then played around with transfering mech raincoats, but could not get telnet to communicate. Then deleted C & E and transferred my old C & E from my other modded box in desperation, of couse this did not work, just got flickering screen probably cause did nothing about eeprom.

So I thought oh well, I've got evox up, so maybe I could flash bios this way, but could not get evox to recognize any loaded bioses, so then transerred a 007_deluxe_pbl_1_4_installer and was going to just try the audio hack and BANG error 13!!

No worries I thought, I'll just boot to mechassault and reload evox and then realised that shit! how do I do this when I cant get to msdash, the game boots but of course there is no save now, bugger, bugger, bugger!

Ok what to do now? In desperation I threw my old xbox hard drive on, and this didnt work probably coz no eeprom match, 1024k bios, not 256. Then I thought maybe I could hook up New xbox hd to PC, clone an image and then edit out the bad files that caused the problem, sounds good in theory, how to do this i do not know, but now I am lost.

Can I just find out with fatxplorer what the addresses are and then delete them from image and then transfer newer image to HD?. Is there any software that will allow me to delete this files simply, tried a few but as soon as image is loaded programs just shut down. Had this probs with one version of fatxplorer, the other version will let me look at it and dump files, but not actaully delete, HD fatxbox wont load an image, and a few others just wont even open.

Sorry for this long post, I think I need a tutor, I m happy to pay to sort this out. Could I format the hd , use hdprepare, load eeprom and load my original backup
files and then lock, would this work?

As you can see from my ramblings I'm really in the poo here, this box was sposed to be my glorious entry into the modding world, hahaha!

Any offers of help to sort this out would be great as said I'm happy to pay someone for much needed advice

Fit a modchip.  Borrow one if necessary.
Boot EvolutionX Install DVD.
FTP in and clear up the mess.  <

If the Xbox is still unlocking the current hard drive, you could hotswap it into a PC (or another modded Xbox) and using something like xlinux or HDD_Driver to fix things.  <

Okay have yet to do anything, however noticed that it will not even boot to a game now, I assume the clock reset itself at some point and so its trying to load msdash first. So now getting error 16.

Question 1: Soup I assume when you say hotswap you mean

                          a. boot good xbox to evox
                          b. boot bad xbox (which is to green death)
                          c. disconnect good xbox hd, then disconnect bad xbox hd
                          d. Then connect good xbox ide cable to bad xbox
                          e. Then ftp to good xbox now with bad xbox hd.
                          f.  Then delete bad files and upload my cefgxyz backup.
                          g. Then shutdown good xbox and bad xbox.
                          h. Then reconnect bad (now good) xbox hd to bad xbox.
                          i.  Then reboot bad, hopefully good xbox
                          j.  Then celebrate.......hopefully.
                          k. Then buy a chip

Ok tried that, no go

I do have another old xbox drive that Has my backup from the other box, can I just ftp to this, load my current backup and use that?

Does the bios on the new xbox look for a specific password to unlock? Will I need to use liveinfo to generate another password from the current backup.

Please any help appreciated  <
