007 Tsop Flash - Tray Ejects ?
« on: April 07, 2004, 07:11:00 AM »

I've been trying to flash this xbox using 007 AUF method ,I double & triple checked solder points (both on topside of motherboard) , when I goto load the save in AUF the screen goes black ,power light turns orange for about 15 seconds then the cd tray ejects and Xbox reboots ,the bios isnt being written, the xbox is either a v1.2 or 1.3 and has a Hynix bios chip , im using a X2 256k bios (i've used this same bios on previous xbox's , no problems) Any ideas appreciated.  <

Hynix is a 1M tsop, you have a 1.0 or 1.1.

Sounds like you are using Eurasia.
Tray eject means flash failed.
Wrong size bios in your case.
Resize it, or use a newer Evox version to flash.  <

I thought v1.2 / v1.3 xbox's use 256k bioses? the manufacture date is 6-23-2003 ,also using the xboxscene version detection guide(Based on pictures) shows it as a v1.2 or v1.3.

the model # on the bios is HY29F002TT-90

ok, it's that new hynix, i didn't realize it was 256K until now (makes sense, all new tsop types would be 256K).
what are you using to flash? raincoat? eurasia?

for eurasia, make sure that you have:
CODE

flash = 0xadb0,"Hynix - HY29F002TT-90",0x40000;

in your raincoat.cfg

for raincoat leave off the semicolon at the end(i think)
