1.5 Bios Downgrade For Live
« on: April 03, 2004, 12:51:00 AM »

Ok, when did M$ start to incorporate the focus chip into their systems? And at what bios does support for this chipset start? I have original 5530 and 5713, can i flash w/ one of these and use the audio exploit to boot evox?  <

15th July 2003 was the manf. date they started appearing with.

Your in the wrong forum here this is TSOP flashing, and your asking about the audio exploit.

Your looking for the Evox M7 BIOS

It isn't the BIOS you need to downgrade it is the Dashboard.  for the exploits you need dash 4920.  You can find your Kernel + Dash versions in the M$ dash under settings.  It comes up after the legal text and says
K:4034
D:4920

I would advise you to go with the TSOP flash unless you need it for LIVE as the TSOP flash is a lot less trouble than having to put in an audio cd every time, and certain other things bugged me about the exploited xbox, such as reset on eject  <

ok let me explain a little more, I AM looking for live comaptibility that's why im asking. I've already flashed w/ M7 before i realized this was scratching out my live compatibility...i want to go back to an audio sploit compatible dash so i can use live, i know when i boot phoenix and load the 5101_BFM my ms dash is scrambled...so can i flash my tsop w/ this and still use the exploit(i can tell whats on the screen enough to get the exploit working)? And also is the 4981 stealth undetectable by M$ or is it named stealth for some other reason?  <

4981 blocks access to Live, it cannot connect, therefore you cannot be banned, it does not allow backup games to be played on Live

and i think you need to flash the TSOP with whatever bios was on it originally or else it will frag  <

thanks for the help so far lord vader...but therein lies the problem, i backed up my original bios before i flashed, but i did it w/ evox and i think the backup is bad because it's a 1 meg and my bios is a winbond 256...so i wonder where i could get a retail bios...and i guess if that's the case, then w/out a modchip im screwed.  <

evox backs up 1mb regardless of TSOP size, so you have the right bios

just use xbtool to resize it (dont try to open it though, just use the "Size" button)  <
