Aspect ratio of 5.4:1 is just a http://mediaicons.org/guidelines.aspx. 5.4:1 was carefully calculated to minimize the aspect ratio differences between existing wide icons / game icons / tv banners and any new wide icons that are created.

these are so good, thank you all!! .. i asked this earlier in the thread with no answer, is their a way to get rid of the text under the wide icons .. i can read the games name just fine in the wide icon and it would look awsome if it wasn't underneath it as well .. maybe another view .. "wideNT" (no text) :]

c-2, Sorry I had seen your question a while ago but I wasn't sure on your answer, and I still am not...

But I'll try :|

If you go to XBMC\Skin\Project Mayhem III\PAL\CommonViewTypes.xml

Open that up, and I'm pretty sure you will need to edit/remove a control... I could be wrong (And please backup before you attempt this), but I think its under
   <include name="WideIcon_Big">
      <control type="list" id="56">
         <posx>211</posx>
         <posy>125</posy>
and scroll down until you see
            <control type="label">
               <posx>10</posx>
               <posy>98</posy>
               <width>295</width>
               <height>16</height>

and im pretty sure you do something there...? I sure hope someone can reply with more accurate information, but I wanted to atleast point you in the right direction

So I made my first wide icon today and tried to upload it to MediaIcons but it was REALLY dark on there. Any ideas? Here is a link to this question in another thread. I didn't know where to put it. It has a picture in that thread. Thanks.

I like the style of those emulator icons, but they are pretty much all red, which looks horrible when they are all on the same page. Do you think you could change some of the backgrounds?

So, all icons from http://tvdb.zsori.com/ work fine with no editing?

Also, someone should lock the old wide icons topic and tell people to stop posting styled icons (with the weird bar overlay).

2) Its still a matter of choice and no one is forceing anyone to use any type of icons if they want to keep makign them then its up to them
