I have flashed 1.3 xbox's TSOPs aplenty but this is my first time with a 1.1 I know all the other junk about needing a 1meg BIOS and so on. I do modchips all the time.
Now for the problem.
I have a 1.1 xbox here that I want to install linux onto so I am trying to flash the TSOP with cromwell. The problem is when the TSOP points are joined the xbox starts but I get a black screen (can't tell if I had audio cuz I didn't plug the audio cable in last night but I can check tonight) the LED stays green and no FRAG. If I hit eject, the LED blinks a few times then the machine shuts off and reboots with the LED continously flashing green only.
I have the 1.1 SHARP TSOP and did join the wire from the LPC port to the via for that perticular TSOP. I tried it without that wire and same thing but as soon as I remove the joints on the jumper I get normal function from the xbox again. This is also strange because I used a modchip to FTP the audio exploit to it to flash (don't want to flash using the chip, already done that, time for something new) I had D0 straped to ground and it worked with the chip on and the points joined, but if I took D0 off, it would boot a black screen and if I hit the reset button it would boot the chip?
Theory: the write points blocked the TSOP from loading and the eject button forced it to read from the LPC?
Anyhow I would like to know what I did wrong. I joined the 1 point on the topside and the 1 point on the bottom and the wire from the LPC to the via for SHARP TSOPs
Could it just be that I need to resolder or was I given a bad tutorial?
Has this happened to anyone else?
