Blinking Green On 1.1
« on: February 12, 2004, 03:10:00 AM »

Okay, I am having a problem I've never really seen or heard too much about. I've flashed a bunch of boxes (tsop) with no problem, but this one is puzzling me a bit. I have a buddy's unmodded v1.1 box. I opened it up, soldered the 2 bridge points, and did the wire also (it has the sharp tsop). But when I turn it on, I get no A/V, but the led stays solid green. Then, if I try to hit eject, the drive won't open and the led just blinks green. No fragging, just a green blink. So, looking around, blinking green can either mean a bad solder or bad eeprom. I checked the solder points, and they are fine. Regarding the eeprom, how could IT be bad when this box has never even been opened until now? I'm at work now, so I won't get a chance to simply desolder everything until later. However, soldering the points does not cause any problems, I've done it loads of times. Anyone have this problem before?  <

you need to solder wires to the top TSOP point as the box won't boot if its bridged on a Sharp.  Boot the xbox then twist the two wires together to falsh the tsop.

Ok, I will try that. I did read that in another thread, but it sounded like that dude was still able to boot even with all of his points bridged. Does it matter when I reconnect the top points? Can I do it after the dash loads, but before I load bond? I use the 007auf method. Or do I have to wait until right before I load the savegame?

BTW- thanks for replying so quickly. At least I won't be scratching my head all day over it until I get home. :)  <

Yep as soon as your box has booted (in dash or game) then you can twist them together.  You could also fit a switch to the case for further flashing, making it easier!  <

I am considering that, but I may actually leave the switch on the inside. See, it's for a friend who is somewhat technically challanged. So,  I'd rather not leave that as an open option for him. But I may want it as I may come back and flash it for him later. I will probably remove all flashing and locking options from his evox, or give him ulx instead, since it doesn't even support it. Thanks for your help. I will update tonight as to whether that is the exact problem I am having. It sounds like it will work though.

Thanks a mil.  <
