it sounds like your prob with raincoat is that your hynix chip isn't in your raincoat.cfg file.  There should be two hynix chips in your raincoat.cfg file.  That seems to be why evo-x won't flash it either. Make sure this:

Flash = 0xadb0,"Hynix - HY29F002",0x40000
Flash = 0xadd5,"Hynix - HY29F080",0x100000

is either in your evo-x.ini file or your raincoat.cfg file and you should be good to go.  <

actually based on the error reported it cannot find the bios.bin file. Ensure its the correct size and is available  <

I think its a bit of both. If it is saying 0 types read, then it isnt pulling any chip info from the cfg file. If it is saying cannot open file, then his bios might not be placed properly.  <

Make a subdirectory called /etc off of the raincoat directory, and put both the bios and the raincoat.conf in there, that will fix it... I promise.

ORRRR... if you've copied these onto your HD from a CD or DVD or CD/DVD-RW, make sure you "chmod 777 -R *" to remove the read only on them.

Also, try running "./raincoat -r backup.bin -v" to see if you can back up your existing TSOP to a backup.bin file....
