I suppose you could use MXM to FTP, then play some Action Script Tetris.  I think you might be able to watch videos while doing FTP in XBMP.  <

the x2 4978 series does have built in ftp, but not while gaming. u can only activate the ftp server by holding down A during bootup but u will be restricted to the ftp server only and cannot do anything else with your xbox, so there is really no point if u already have evox and other ftp software on ur xbox. the xbox cannot run two xbe's at a time, hence having ftp running with a game is impossible, although i may be incorrect. anyone wanna correct me?  <

You are correct. It's impossible to run a FTP server at the same time that a game (or any other software that doesn't have a FTP server built in) is running.  This is because the xbox does not multitask on its own, it does not have an "OS" in the traditional sense.  <

thank you Cyan and PiP for your replies. I find that interesting though because of this situation: to do a map hack or similar i know you have to go into the x y or z drive and download the uncompressed map after the game decompresses it and stores it there.. but how can you do that if the game clears the cache everytime it starts?  <

To do the Halo map mods you run Halo, load the map you want to edit & return to evox.

Then you can do 1 of 2 things:

1: FTP into either x/y/z whichever one was used (you'll know which one cause there will be files like cachemap00.map in there, check out the Game Hacks forum to find more info about which file is which map). Then you can either use one of the programs out there like "Halo MapItem Editor" to edit the map or hexedit the file yourself and then FTP back to the same place you got it from and run Halo again. Once you load the map the changes you made are there.

-OR-

2: You could do it the easy way and get "Halo Cache Editor" which is a program that runs on the xbox iteslf and there's no need to FTP the files. It's really quite user friendly too.

The reason why this works is because the cache does not get overwritten evertime the game loads. That's the whole point of having the cache... to cut down on load time.

Anyway, try it out, they can be quite fun :)

well you can have scripts running in the background, thats how evox does the IGR, Trainers and debug_TSR telnet, i just dont know if it can load anything as complex as an ftp server without significatly slowing down alot of games  <
