i though i would try highways kit

so i used eurasia on a v1.0 box, tried flashing

with a evox m7 137+ support

it flashed and then powered off

and now my box wont boot anymore

i have flashed 4 with evox, no probs  <

did you use a 256kb on a 1mb tsop

ver 1.0 would probably have been a ST or Hynix 1mb tsop so should of flashed through evox ok
(evox auto pads a 256kb to 1mb where needed - the eurasia/raincoat type of flash utils don't)

probably identified the bios ok but may have used a 256kb bios.bin by default

use evox where possible and others like raincoat for 256kb winbonds etc....

you may be able to boot it still by booting of the last 512kb or 256kb of the 1mb bios then reflash the whole 1mb with M7 etc...

the highway creator, should make us aware of this problem

so ur saying use evox for v1.0 - v1.2
and eurasia for v1.3 - v1.5  <

well pulling A19 from GND to VCC (+3.3) makes it split into 2x512 banks

so you can try pulling A19 to each way and play with A18 pulling it to GND and VCC As well which ill make it 4x256 and boot off the 1st bank
then disconnect both address lines after booting and reflash to 1mb

well, i soldered an x22 pro in there

i had extra chip

but how can i fix the tsop

when i load evox, i go to the flash bios

and it says flash not writable

Take out the modchip, add the switch. You can boot one side or the other for sure.

If you get a SPDT switch with center off then after the boot, you can center off and flash the whole 1MB TSOP.  <

you use:

evox for 99.9999999% of NON ATX MOBO'S (1.0 & 1.1 for 1mb tsops)
only evox will pad a 256kb or 512kb to 1mb where needed

evox also for ATX mobo's with ST or Hynix tsop - 256kb

Winbond use raincoat / eurasia kits AND A 256KB BIOS
PREF A M7 OR X2 4979/80/81 in case you get a 1.4/1.5 and forget to check video chip

skorchir's post may work - it may have erased all the 1mb but perhaps it wrote half it ok on the first half of the tsop - so you need top try and get the tsop split and boot from perhaps the first 512kb, then either flash the fucker again

well you cant flash the tsop unless you boot from the tsop. unless you use the D6 Tsop bios and control A15 to flash the tsop there is a tutorial somewhere. but the easiest way is to use A18 and A19 to boot the first 256k and then disconnect them after booting and reflash from there  <

i have installed switches and flashed 1/2 bios

so do i jest install a switch as if i wanted a multi bios  <

now you may be lucky and by selecting one of the banks it may boot on the first 512kb you flashed

now when it/if it boots in EVOX you got an option:

switch to other bank and flash the other bank with another bios type

or perhaps reflash the whole lot if you kill the A19 / connection to the switch so it uses the full 1mb  <

i got luck

and got it working

i flashed 1/2 with the bakup bios

and the other with evox m7

so for future refs

i should use evox for v1.0 through v1.1 with a 512/1024 bios
eurasia for v1.2 through v1.5 with a 256 bios

yup think you got it

the 007 evox way will pad the 256 or 512 bios to 1mb
and will say size mismatch if you try and put a 512 or 1mb onto a 256kb mod/tsop

you can use the 007 evox for later 1.2 - 1.5's IF THEY HAVE A ST OR HYNIX TSOP

so look at the tsop next time ya bridge the points to see if it is a winbond on later 12+ / ATX mobo's
if it is a winbond then it's raincoat / eurasia method and a nice 256kb bios like M7 x2 4979 or later

PS - you are one lucky sod - I nuked my 1mb bios with a bfm bios that was only for exploits

I had to wire in a 29 wire homebrew - you got lucky in a way coz you had a half decent bios on there to save ya ass

your post speaks for itself.
512k bioses on the tsop require a switch

i use eurasia for all 256K and evox for 1M.  that is just because i am too lazy to change the bios.bin.
