Xbox Windows 98 Question (not Asking How To Do It Lol)
« on: May 02, 2006, 07:54:00 AM »

I have decided to install Windows 98 on my Xbox, but I'm not really sure if it will do what I want it to.  First-off, I know that Xbox-Linux systems like X-DSL will not support 3D Accelleration, and that the speed will not be very good.

However, I am doing it just to try it out.  This is my question:

Since Star Wars: Rebel Assault 2 for Windows 95 does not require 3D Accelleration, will it work without a massive lag from inside X-DSL?

Try it and see. If it doesn't need hardware 3D it should run. If it's too slow you could look into a virtualisation system (the QEMU accelerator, or VMWare) which may run much faster than QEMU alone.
