not sure if this is the right forum, but....

well i bought a refurbished xbox and a buddy is going to softmod it for me and then ill be dropping in a new HDD....BUT i know the xbox has live2.0 on it already and i was told that Live2.0 will lock my HDD once i drop it in.  basically my question is:  how can i get around this?

can i remove Live2.0?
can i install Live1.0 over 2.0 with the Live cd?
is there a way to drop in the HDD and NOT worry about Live2.0 locking it?

read the forums...lots of threads about this.

yes, you can remove live 2.0
yes, live 1.0 can be installed over live 2.0
yes, you can put a new hdd in and not have to worry about live 2.0 locking it.

your hdd will always lock and unlock. live 2.0 doesn't lock your hdd to the point where you can't unlock it.

all you have to do is get a 4920 dash and install it over your current live 2.0 C. there are other tutorials on how to play live 2.0 with softmods.  <
