Befor the e-mail system starts marking your requests for how to use Windows XP on X-BOX as SPAM. I fell It's time to tell all.

1st you need 3 things; Bochs, Memory, and BIOS

Step 1: Getting Windows XP
Step 2: Modding your X-BOX
Step 3: Sending your X-Box to firendtech for an memory upgread (you need it to make this work will and for playing games like Battlefild 1942 on yout X-BOX)
Step 4: Installing Bochs on your X-BOX
Step 5: Fashing the new BIOS on your mod-chip (this is were having an mod-chip that can use more then one BIOS and a BIOS Loader comes on handly).
Step 6: Installing Windows XP under Bochs
Step 7: Get all your Windows Games reday it's time to play them
Step 8: Buy an USB keyborad and adpter for School, web, and for most PC Games.

bochs ? I thought it gives you like 1/100 of the native performance.

Has anyone tried running XP on a IBM PC AT ? And playing games, may be pacman but even that I doubt.

Achool 120% and Games X Copy will let do that, however Games X Copy will see what copy portection the CD-ROM has, wille Achool 120% you have to find the copy portection used on your own.

i think you would be a thousand times better off installing linux, and then running vmware and installing xp to the virtual partition on the virtual partition, or use a native linux partition. i wouldnt recamend windows xp for anyone, especialy on an xbox, and under bochs, i can barly run windows 95. this sounds like a bad idea to me

HELLO! Man you guys are going around your elbows to scratch you backs here. Why even both tring to fudge XP into installing on the XBOX, just do like another poster said.

Load linux, then load VMWARE and have it run your XP session, it will handle all the Hardware virtualizing for you!

If you really want to be cool, you would just get your hands on a copy of VMWARE ESX and virtualize 3 or 4 different OS versions on your XBOX.

But if you like doing things the hard way, don't listen to me at all.

You would never get VMWARE ESX installed on a XBOX. It requires SCSI drives. As far as multiple OS's is concerned you can do that with VMWARE Workstation. Where do some of you come up with this stuff?

THis thread should be locked for retardedness. if you install WINXP on your xbox via this method, it will run too slow to play any games. PLUS the lack of 3d drivers for the Xbox video card. Im sorry this cant be done to play games or do anything useful, becuase it would take about 30 seconds for the start menu to open up just after clicking it.

Windows XP Embedded learn those words and bookmark them in your narrow little minds..

go do some learning before you EVER kick XP out of the running for the xbox..

how many times do i have to say it along with others,, Embedded can run on Flash rom chip thats like 16 megs and a barebones embedded installation WITH NETWORKING is less than 100 megs. thats XP gui explorer networking video sound yada yada.

you people really gotta learn a thing or two about what M$ has done with its little bloated OS in the last few years. i mean shit they have the Live CD before Linux did where do you think linux got the idea...

go find the thread here called "getting it running" or something close to that, there are some fine gent's working hard to get embedded running.

yuor right Lestat oh and y the way dont flame if your goig to turn caps lock on becuase that is just retarded and if you guys didnt know 128 mb of rams is the minimum for windows so it will run some games also if you havent notcied people are working on making a bios that can directly run embeeded xp so if they do thta we basicly have a fast version of xp oh and dont bother with vmware or bochs it will crawl
